Saturday August 5th - 22u wraps up their NCOBA regular season.

Saturday at Woodbine Park Thunder 22u split a double header with the Kanata Cubs.

Kingston lost the first game 9-1. Going into the 6th inning the game was knotted at 1-1. In the 6th Kanata scored two runs and added 6 runs in the 7th to break the game open. Thunder 22u struggled to put runs on the board.

Nico Bolt had a strong outing on the mound for Thunder. The right handed starter went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out five.

Colby Barr, Liam Gray, and Connor Bearisto each collected 2 hits in the game.

Thunder Bounced back in the second game winning 10-5.

Thunder 22u took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. Nick Leeman singled on a 3-1 count, driving in two runs, and Colby Barr doubled on a 1-1 count, driving in two runs.

Barr was the winning pitcher for Thunder surrendering five runs on 8 hits over seven innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Thunder 22u tallied eight hits in the game.  Leeman and Barr both had 2 hits and 3 RBI for Thunder

Thunder travels to Windsor this weekend to participate in the Ontario Baseball Provincial A Championships.

  Thunders first game is Friday at 1pm vs Barrie at Cullen Stadium in Windsor.

July 8 & 9 - Thunder 22u wins 3 of 4 over the weekend
Kingston Thunder 22u played 4 games over the weekend. Saturday they travelled to Aylmer to take on the Bulldogs. Game one Thunder watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 4-0 loss. Aylmer scored two runs in the first inning and two runs in the second inning . Kayden Richardson was on the mound  for Thunder a solid outing striking out six. Thunder only managed four hits in the game.

Game two Thunder had all cylinders firing on offense, winning over Aylmer 8-1. Thunder got things started in the first inning on a  three run blast  by Jacob Smith . Thunder had two homeruns in the game Jacob Murphy hit a towering shot in the fourth to go long with Smith s 3 run shot in the first.  Gavin O’Brien earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Thunder . He went seven innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out 13.

On Sunday Kingston Thunder 22u travelled to Brockville to take on the Seaway Surge. Thunder ran off with the lead late in the game in an 11-7 victory over Seaway.  The game was tied at seven with Thunder batting in the top of the fourth when Jacob Smith singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs. Bats blistered as Thunder collected 15  hits in the game.  Murphy, Colby Barr, Smith, and Liam Hohertz each had multiple hits for Thunder   Murphy went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Thunder in hits. . Nico Bolt earned the win for Thunder striking out five and walking just one.

Game two the bats remained hot as Thunder won the game 14-4 Colby Barr was the winning pitcher and Aiden Johnson went 4-4 with two doubles scoring four runs to lead the offence. Thunder next see action this weekend in Kemptville In the Seaway Shootout tournament  Thunders first game is  Friday night at 6pm as they take on the St. Thomas Cardinals .

Saturday June 17th - Thunder 22u defeated Seaway Surge 4-2
Thunder 22u pulled away with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Connor Bearisto singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and Liam Hohertz doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Nico Bolt was the winning pitcher. The righty lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out nine. Thunder racked up eight hits in the game. Aidan Johnson, Jacob Murphy, and Hohertz all had multiple hits for Thunder. Johnson led Thunder with three hits in three at bats.
Game 2 was a 2-2 tie. Gavin O Brien pitched 7 innings solid innings for Thunder . Thunder played solid defense.Liam Hohertz went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Thunder in hits.

Sunday May 28th - Thunder 22u host and sweep double header vs. Kanata Cubs
On Sunday the 22u Thunder held their home opener at Woodbine hosting the Kanata Cubs. Kingston swept the double header. In game one Kingston won 2-1 on a complete game pitched by Colby Barr. Both of Kingstons Runs were driven in by Jacob Murphy who went 2 for 3 at the plate in game one and played solid defence all weekend. Aiden Johnson had a great weekend with his aggressive base running / steals and Solid defense. Thunder took game two 4-2 highlighted by another complete game  pitching gem by Gavin O'Brien. Liam Hohertz had two hits in game two and was solid behind the plate for Thunder. 

Saturday May 27th - Thunder 22u split double header in Whitby
On Saturday May 27th, the 22U Whitby Canadians hosted the 22U Kingston Thunder for a double header at Iroquois Diamond. Under clear blue skies and ideal temps, the teams battled it out and split the double Header game one Kingston won 6-4, a strong starting pitching performance by Nico Bolt . Jacob Smith was 2 for 3 with a pair of clutch hits driving in runs both times and Colby Barr hit a 2 run 320 foot bomb. There were several fans at the ballpark who were treated to some exciting games at-bats and defensive plays on both sides and bat boys to support both benches from a Whitby's U10 team.
Thunder lost the second game 9-6 in a back and fourth battle additionally, the 22U Whitby parents put on the most delicious spread for the players and coaches of both teams, umpires and fans in between games. Thank to Whitby for hosting the day.
All in all, a great day at ball park.
