Thunder retires Matt Brash & Terry Orr's numbers: Matt Brash & Terry Orr have become the first two numbers to be retired in Thunder's history. Matt's number 6 and Terry's number 17 will be placed at Woodbine this season to honour their achievements with Thunder.

MATT BRASH # 6 - Matt played for Kingston Thunder from Mosquito to Junior. In 2016 with Thunder Matt struck out 18 of a possible 21 outs for an 8-2 win over Georgetown in the final of the Mississauga North tourney. He allowed two hits. In 2015 Brash Pitched for Team Ontario in the Canada Cup; as the province won bronze, Pitched in Tournament 12. With Kingston Thunder he pitched 76 2/3 compiling a 1.19 ERA, with 146 strikeouts, allowing only 13 earned runs and Pitched Bayridge High to their 2nd ever championship. The previous year 2014 Matt pitched Bayridge High School to their first ever championship. Matt played in the NCAA with the Niagara Purple Eagles and received many honours including: Honours in 2019 as junior at Niagara: Named MAAC Pitcher of the Year, Selected to All-MAAC First Team, Set Niagara single-season strikeout record with 121, which led MAAC and was 10th in the NCAA, Named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District District 1 First Team, Maintained grade point average of 3.67, A First Team Academic All-District honoree, he advanced to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, 2018 as a sophomore at Niagara: Earned Metro Atlantic Pitcher of the Week working 8 2/3 innings against Manhattan with eight strikeouts, Also gained the same honour for beating Monmouth 2017 season: Named MAAC Rookie of the Year, the fourth player in Niagara history to do so. 2015 season: Earned Eastern Ontario Baseball Association Senior Rep Player of the Year, Captain of Bayridge HS, Voted Bayridge’s top male athlete all four years of HS.

Matt was selected in the fourth round, 113th overall, in the 2019 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
Matt is the first Thunder player and only the second Kingston baseball player to be drafted by a major league team. Jonnie Mazzeo, also a pitcher, was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 41st round 20 years ago, in 1999.
Matt's number was officially retired by Thunder in 2020.

TERRY ORR # 17 (1959-2018) - Terry was a great man, great father and great coach. In 2016 Terry won the Eastern Ontario Baseball Association Coach of the Year Award after leading his Thunder team to the Minor Midget A OBA Championship. Starting in June of 2020 Thunder's Minor Midget Tournament will named the Terry Orr Memorial Tournament. Terry's # 17 was officially retired by Thunder in 2020.
