Minor Midgets win EOBA Championship: July 18-20 -

The Minor Midgets went to Pickering on the weekend and won the EOBA Championship tournament. Thunder went undefeated in the double knock out tournament.

Kingston won their first game 8-3 against the Whitby Chiefs. Nico Bolt pitched going 5 innings giving up 1 hit 1 run and striking out 4. Bolt also had a pair hits and scored 2 runs .Noah Irwin had a single,double and triple had 2 RBI, scored 2 runs and had 2 stolen bases. 

In game 2 vs the Quinte Royals Kingston won 5-4. Colby Barr pitched 4 1/3 giving up 1 run and 3 hits . Barr was 3 for 3 with 1 RBI and scored a run. Evan Bennett came on in relief going 2 2/3 striking out 3.

Game 3 Kingston again had to face the Quinte Royals. Kington won 4-3. Evan Bennett got the pitching  win going  the final four innings. Colby Barr was 2 for 3 and scored a run. With 2 out in the bottom of the 7th and the bases load Nick Leeman hit a walk off base hit for the game winning run. 

Kingston won 4-1 in the championship game again vs. Whitby. Colby Barr again got the pitching win going 5 and 2/3 striking out 6. He was 2 for 3 and scored a run. Chad Cousins came on in relief going 1 inning for the save. Nick Leeman had 2 RBI. Evan Bennett had 2 hits 1 RBI and scored a run. Noah Irwin had 2 hits and 2 stolen bases. 

Thunder Minor Midgets also won the EOBA regular season pennant going 16-4. The first place finish earned them a bye to the OBA A Championships on labour day weekend in Bolton.

Minor Midgets sweep twin bill, remain undefeated: July 29th -  Thunder swept a double header over the Kanata Cubs at Woodbine Park today, 8-7 and 7-6. In Gm 1. Zan Carroll had 2 hits, scored 2 runs, had 2 Stolen bases and 2 RBI. Evan Bennet, in relief, got the pitching win and had a double and single and 2 RBI. Jacob Lawson had the game winning RBI.  Aiden  Johnson got the win with complete game. Colby Barr had 3 hits and 3 stolen bases, 1 RBI and 2 runs. Jacob Lawson once again had the game winning RBI with walk off line drive single to score Tye Carswell.

Minor Midgets remain undefeated: July 25th - Thunder Minor Midgets increased their record to 10-0 last night at Woodbine vs. the Quinte Royals. Down 9-2 late in game Thunder rallied back to tie the game at 9 with a seven run inning. Jacob Cooper doubled driving in a run to start the rally. With 2 out and still down 3 runs Chad Cousins doubled with the bases loaded clearing the bases and tying the game at 9. Thunder scored another run in the next inning for the 10- 9 victory. Colby Barr pitched the last 4 innings in relief giving up 0 runs and 1 hit.

Minor Midgets win nail biter over Quinte: July 4th - It was a great Ball game last night at Woodbine Park as the Kingston Thunder Minor Midgets defeated the Quinte Royals 5-4. Chad Cousins got the pitching win. Cousins also had 2 RBI. Nico Bolt came on in relief and picked up the save. Jacob Cooper had 2 RBI on the game winning 2 run single.

Minor Midgets sweep again, start season 6-0: June 3rd - Minor Midgets swept a DH on Saturday in Pickering against the Red Sox A squad. Game 1 was 15-2 & game 2 was 18-5. Their record now stands at 6-0 on the season. Nico Bolt was the winning pitcher in game one pitching 6 innings giving up 2 runs and striking out 8. Aiden Johnson stole 7 bases in the 2 games and scored 5 runs. Chad Cousins was the winning pitcher in game 2, he also scored 4 runs. Evan Bennett was 3 for 4 in the second game with 4 RBI. The games were highlighted with some great defense by shortstop Aiden Johnson and second baseman Evan Bennett. Jacob Lawson pitched in relief in both games.

Minor Midgets Sweep DH home opener: May 27th - Thunder swept a DH  over the Pickering Red Sox AA at Woodbine. Game 1 was 8-7 . Nicholas Bolt Pitched the first game striking out 10. Jacob Lawson came on in relief for the win. Evan Bennett and Jacob Cooper both went 3 for 3 and  Nick Leeman had 3 RBI. Game 2 was 9-1 Chad Cousins got the pitching win in the second game giving up 1 run in 6 innings striking out 8. Colby Barr came on in relief to finish the game.

Minor Midgets Sweep DH to open season: May 13 - Thunder swept DH over the Whitby Chiefs in Whitby. Game 1 was 10-2, game 2 was 17-0. In the first game Colby Barr got the pitching win & Jacob Lawson came on in relief to finish the game. In the second game Chad Cousins pitched a 2 hit complete game shutout for the win.
